Hello all! This is my final post of 2025. I’m taking a look back at highlights from what I wrote about in 2025 and a look ahead at what 2026 might hold for my blog.
2025 in review

I started off the reintroducing my change management “come from” and writing about how my passion for change management stems from my personal journey.
Next, I declared that I don’t want the people to “feel” like they are involved in a change. I want them to actually be involved and included throughout the entire change process as much as possible and to feel and experience what that’s like.
I don’t want people to “feel like” they are actively involved and included in a change. I want them to actually be involved and included.
I did a series examining three concerns or barriers business people and change practitioners might have about doing change with people rather than to them.
- The change won’t achieve desired end results.
- The change will take too much time and money.
- A loss of control and an unfamiliar approach.

I wrapped up 2025 writing about 6 questions to ask before focusing on a particular change methodology, tool, template, or assessment.
- What are your change goals?
- What changes, if any, are needed to these goals?
- What are your beliefs about people and change?
- Which, if any of these beliefs get in the way of successful change?
- Whether people are aware of them or not, their change goals and beliefs about change and people significantly influence the decisions they make/actions they take to carry out a change. It’s better to be aware of them.
- Which, if any, of your policies, procedures, and ways of working get in the way of supporting human centric, participatory, kind, and goal-oriented change?
- What are all the changes taking place simultaneously in the group(s) that will be a part of this change?

A look ahead to 2026
I’m not sure what 2026 holds for this blog or for me.
In my current role, I am a defined term full=time employee through March. I’m not sure what I will be doing after that. It could involve another traditional job, consulting, writing, speaking, podcasting, writing a book, or a combination of things! What I do know is I intend whatever I do to involve putting more of the change management ideas, philosophies, and practices I write about in this blog out into the world.
I would like to hear from you about what comes next for this blog! What change management related topics would you like me to write about in 2026? Please post your thoughts and comments below. Let’s continue to help each other become the best change management practitioners and enthusiasts we can be!
Thank you for reading. Until my next post, take care and keep up the good work!
Mike
