Hello all! This is my final post of 2024. This week I’m taking a look back at highlights from what I wrote about in 2024 and a look ahead at what 2025 might hold for my blog.
2024 in review

I started off 2024 introducing you to my friend Eryc Eyl, his new book Stop Engaging Employees: Start making work more human, and some of his thoughts on change management.

I did a series on the 6 meta trends in the change management data section of Prosci Chief Innovation Officer Tim Creasey’s post titled Change Management Trends Outlook 2024 and Beyond.
- Converging people, culture, and strategy
- Adopting Agile
- Increasing Awareness of the need for change management
- Leveraging technology
- Building organizational change capability
- Integrating change management and project management

My next series was What does improv have to do with change management? As it turns out, quite a lot!
- Give a sh*t, be emotionally invested, and care about people
- Have a “we’re in this together” mentality
- Be in the present moment and listen instead of planning your response
- Conflict can happen, own it and move forward
- Yes and, meet people where they’re at
- Come in with a perspective and know it can change
- Trust yourself, there is no one right answer, just commit
- Take a breath, give yourself some space
- Emotions matter
- Use fewer words, say more with less
- Build the scene little by little
- Stay in the scene
- Effort is ugly
- Take the gifts you are given
- Be open and curious
- Expand your comfort zone
- Remember to take care of yourself

My last big series of 2024 was What does pickleball have to do with change management? Again, quite a lot!
- It’s about more than the score
- People have a lot going on in their lives
- Honest, authentic communication is important
- Don’t judge a book by its cover
- Protect your partner & set them up for success
- There are many ways to be successful
- Move in tandem with your partner
- Be OK with saying you don’t know
- Sharpen your saw
- Standardization would help
A look ahead to 2025
I’m not sure what 2025 holds for this blog. I’m going to take the rest of this year and see what bubbles up. I would also like to hear from you! What change management related topics wouild you like me to write about in 2025? Please post your thoughts and comments below. Let’s continue to help each other become the best change management practitioners and enthusiasts we can be!
