Hello all! We are in a series called What does Pickleball have to do with change management? In this series, I’m sharing some of the lessons I’ve learned from playing pickleball that have direct application to my work as a change management practitioner. Last week’s post was Be OK with saying you don’t know. This week’s lesson is….

Sharpen your saw
Stephen Covey popularized the concept of sharpening the saw in his book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. In pickleball, this has meant drilling and taking lessons in addition to playing games, playing with different people, joining leagues, playing at different courts, and playing in tournaments. All these things have helped me continuously learn and grow.
Sharpening the saw is also very important as a change management practitioner. Continuously learning, growing, and honing my craft helps me be the best practitioner I can be. For me, this has included certification, joining a change management organization, reading, and writing this blog.
Sharepening the saw is very important is a change management practitioner.
