Hello all! I hope that each of you had a good August. I took the opportunity to spend time with my girlfriend (including going to a county fair), took a trip for work, had a bout with COVID, and did some free writing about my next blog series. This post is my first entry in the series What does Pickleball have to do with change management?

My sister introduced me to Pickleball during the pandemic with group lessons through Community Education. While it didn’t catch on with my sister, I was hooked and have been playing ever since! Currently, I’m in a mixed doubles league once a week and a men’s league once a week. I try to get out and play at least one other time each week if at all possible.
While it’s not how we met, my girlfriend and I enjoy playing Pickleball, too. She is the one who suggested I think about how, if at all, the sport has influenced or informed my change management work. As it turns out, there are a variety of things about my experience playing Pickleball that can help me be a better change management practitioner. I’m going to spend the next number of posts sharing some of what I’m learning. Next week, I’ll write about how Pickleball (and change management) is about more than the score.
